"...Every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. (Gen. 2:5,6)."
In the beginning, it did not rain. A mist watered the earth and sustained the vegetation. Things were sustained but on the limited mist it did not thrive as it could thrive. Verse 5 says that, And there was not a man to till the ground. Unlimited water would mean unlimited growth. Unlimited growth with no man to tend it would be chaos.
In verse 10 we read, And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; A God planted a garden that he could enjoy. A place where growth and abundance would not be hindered by lack of supply. He sent a river to water the garden. The river supplied the abundant life that the mist could not. Beautiful things began to happen in that garden because of the river.
Verse 15 says, "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. " Because of the abundant growth in the garden, there was a great need for dressing and keeping this booming place of vegetation. You may say, because of the river God needed a man. I would rather think because God had a man, he was able to send the river.
In January 2003, God directed me to this passage and spoke through it to me. He gave me a promise that if I would go to the place he had picked for me, to the place he had planted, if I would tend the garden, he would send the river! So in September of 2003 we started Trinity Holiness Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. A place that has existed on the mist of God's mercy for too long now. We came here because God promised if he had a man he would send the river. Rivers of grace that would allow things to grow in the hearts of men and woman that mists of mercy would never produce. Thank God we are seeing God do what he promised.
| We have been operating for 4 months now and we have seen God's hand through it all. When we were meeting in motel meeting rooms and asking God for a place of our own, he supplied the need. I was out driving one day and took down the phone number of a house for rent, because it was near an old vacant store on the main highway. The lady that answered owned both properties. When she met with us and found out that we had come to start a church. She gave us the keys to the building and 6 weeks free rent to get started. She the knocked the price down to $350 a month and required no deposit. This building has worked out great. We can seat about 55 people and have room for children's church. | ![]() |
One day my son, Stephen, and I were out working on the building and I found a wallet. I searched for a phone number and made contact with the owner. He came by and offered me a reward. I told him he had to come to church as my reward. I mentioned to him about my family living in our fifth wheel and asked him if he knew of anyone that might have a house for rent. He took me 3/4 of a mile from our church building and showed me a 4 bedroom house that he had for rent. He gave me the keys and 3 weeks free rent. Then when we got the church building ready to paint he came and painted the entire building for free!
We have had several of our friend=s come by to be in service with us. It has filled my heart with joy as they all have mentioned the Spirit and the liberty to preach on our little building. We had our first revival after Christmas. What a time we had in that meeting as we rejoiced in the river that is beginning to flow in Little Rock. 720 churches within 30-45 minutes of our little cement block building. Not one of those churches preaches the truth of the Trinity and the power of a sanctified life, not one. 720 churches living on the mist of God=s mercy, and God has blessed us with the river of grace. Yes, they have facilities and finance but we are enjoying the fruit that only the river can produce.
| "Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you". We have much to do in Pulaski County. God has given us the vision for 4 holiness churches anchoring this county for God. 360,000 people need to find their way out of the mist and into the river. Brethren, pray for us. |
